Myths and Facts About Autism.png

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is guided by the voices of those we serve: students. Each learner is supported and encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas, with the aim of building a stronger, more effective public education system for all in Waterloo Region. Their well-being is a central facet of this ongoing conversation with students, as we know that a student whose wellness is supported is one who can achieve to their fullest potential in the classroom.

In April 2022, Quinn Plummer, a Grade 8 student at Northlake Woods Public School and disability advocate, felt inspired to help promote acceptance and created a video message to share his personal thoughts on the myths and facts about autism for Autism Acceptance Month. Plummer’s video helped students, staff and adults across Waterloo Region to be better informed about autism, ultimately helping everyone to do better.
